2025 has been my perfect storm. We said goodbye to Dad. We said goodbye to Grandpa. We are saying goodbye to so many things we held dear, so let's sum up the year once more.
To resemble the rollercoaster my year has been, you'll see I combined the first and the last hour this time. Because some days you get to catch up, riding the slow waves, and the next day the storm can hit you again at full power.
But we can't get through 2025 on our own. For the first time in the history of the Philizz Yearmix, I called in help.

Inspired by the TMF Year Mixes and Ben Liebrand’s Grandmixes, I started creating my own editions 15 years ago. Scouring the charts, preparing music, and tinkering away!

For a traditional mix made on the computer, I would spend about half an hour just to produce 10 minutes of the mix. Preparations often start as early as September, and with a bit of luck it’s finished in time by December.

Due to a lack of time, this mix is different from previous years. This time, the mix was done live on a Pioneer setup instead of on the computer. There are slightly fewer tracks than usual, but that shouldn’t spoil the fun!

Also, my usual chart source stopped this year, so I turned to the charts from Defected, Spinnin’ Records, Beatport, Global Dance Charts, Spotify, and personal favorites. This resulted in a mix of Afro house, house, dance, trance, and a bit of techno.

Happy new year! Time to look back... We started this tradition in 2016-2019 when we were asked to do "The Ben Harder Show Yearmix." When there were no more new radio shows, we decided to continue this tradition in 2022 as "The Alternative Hardcore Yearmix," and last year we changed the name to "The Only Hardcore Yearmix That Matters." Because we are arrogant? NO! Because we are not sponsored by any company, we try to stay open-minded and give unknown artists and labels a spot as well. So this year we are back with another edition. For the 15th time Kozmikdj made the video as always and I am very happy he joined me again.

As usual it is containing only the best dancetracks from 2024.
For the selection of these tracks I used The Dutch Dance List again and as an addition I used the Global Dance Charts and The Dutch Top 40.
